Keep calm, eat chicken |
Three of the former Dosettes are trying their hand at a new market that will only occur after the sun sets. Fete, a bigger, badder version of Dose, debuts at 6 PM in Room 1520 with vendors such as Rare Tea Cellar and Butcher & Larder. Tickets cost $5.
Fancy Falafel
Heather Terhune of Sable created this month’s chef inspired wrap at FalaFill. Terhun stared with a curry falafel and added julienned Granny Smith apples, celery, toasted cumin-lime aioli, golden raisins and roasted and salted cashews in a whole wheat wrap. It is available for $6.50, and $1 of each sale goes to the local charity Purple Asparagus.
That Other Market
For the purists out there, Dose Market returns on Sunday to the River East Arts Center with the usual lineup of food and fashion. Sip on complementary Bloody Marys from Koval Distillery and McClure’s Pickles or a beer from Begyle. Do-Rite donuts will also be on hand to fuel holiday shopping. Tickets cost $10.
Finger Lickin’
Somehow this perfect pairing slipped off our radar: chicken and whiskey. Good thing Pecking Oder is all over it ever Tuesday, when they pair whiskey cocktail flights with their chicken served with whiskey-based sauces. The tastings take place at 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM (773-907-9900).
