A few blocks shy of the undeniably explosive Logan Square food scene is another neighborhood sporting a few new spots. This week in Bucktown, a star chef took up shop and husband-and-wife team started serving Korean cuisine. An upscale take on Thai is also opening soon.
Now Open
Chef Andrew Brochu, departed Graham Elliot on slightly shaky ground only to land in the equally unexpected Uberstein location. It has been transformed into Monarch - a comfort food-driven restaurant serving burgers, wings and Sunday brunch. The beer hall décor and lederhosen have been replaced with gold-framed mirrors and silver candelabras.

Soft Open
En Hakkore took over the space previously housing Melt. The old sandwich shop's lettering still fills the top windows, but inside, the elementary school décor has been replaced with a tea shop feel. The menu features Korean cuisine in the form of sushi, rice bowls and sandwiches as well as a small corner of the restaurant dedicated to imported snack foods.
