Alla Spina is all about great beer - the name translates to “from the tap” - and the North Broad birreria is hosting several events to finish out 2012 and kick off the new year in brew-happy fashion. First up is a tap takeover dubbed “Home for the Holidays.” From December 26-31, all 22 draft lines will be devoted to local suds. In place of the Italian craft imports that usually pour will be standouts from Weyerbacher, yards, Round Guys, Victory, Sly Fox, Dogfish Head and several more. Glasses are priced between $4.50-$12.

As of 2013, the infamous Vetri Family industry nights will no longer be held at Amis; instead they’ll take place at Alla Spina on the first Monday of every month. January 7 is the first of such shindigs, and it’s extra special: the evening will see the first-ever tapping of Hundred Horse, a sessionable winter chestnut ale that is the third in the series of exclusive house beers created in collaboration with Victory Brewing Company. Adding to the night’s excitement, joining the Vetri crew in the kitchen will be none other than Paul Kahan of The Publican, Blackbird, Avec and other top Chicago eateries.

Kahan and Publican chef de cuisine Brian Huston will help Hundred Horse Ale will make its official debut the next night. On Tuesday, January 8, guests can make reservations for a four-course, five-label beer dinner, during which each course will feature one dish from The Publican and one dish from Alla Spina, paired with a brew from Victory. Word is Marc Vetri, Jeff Michaud and Jeff Benjamin will all be in the house, and the star-studded meal is just $50 per person, so act fast to reserve your seat (215-600-0017).
