Gettin' figgy at Ray's and Stark Bar
Eat This
Now that chef Drew Ison has settled in the Mirabelle kitchen, he launches a new brunch menu on Sunday (Dec. 16). From 10 AM to 4 PM, find dishes like omelets with shrimp, tomato and hollandaise, banana-stuffed French toast with salted caramel sauce and peanut butter, and steak and eggs. There are also bottomless mimosas for $15, and specialty "morning" cocktails because what would the Sunset Strip be without more Bloody Marys and Irish Coffee (8768 W. Sunset Blvd.; 310-659-6022).

Drink This
Speaking of cocktails, 'tis the season for the new winter menus. At Ray's & Stark Bar, sommelier and barman Paul Sanguinetti has drummed up things like the Fig Passion (fig-infused cognac, Pierre Ferrand dry curacao, bitters, lemon, Champagne) and the Ego Flippin' (scotch, late-harvest zinfandel, sweet vermouth, cherry herring, lemon, egg). Sip them at the bar or in the dining room before or after the Kubrick exhibit (5905 Wilshire Blvd.; 323-857-6197).

Do This
You've waited all year to don your best Santa and reindeer costumes to stumble around Santa Monica's bars, and the day is finally here. On Saturday (Dec. 15), the Santa Monica Santa Pub Crawl infiltrates Main Street, the Wilshire corridor and around the Pier. $10 gets you a wristband which allows you to the drink and food specials at participated bars and restaurants. Pick a route - the Main Street route is already closed, but the Pier Route starts at Rusty's Surf Ranch and includes places like Ye Olde King's Head and Sonoma Wine Garden at Santa Monica Place, and the Wilshire Route spreads cheer at spots like Sonny McLean's, Charleston and JP's Pub. You must sign up online to take part, and watch the Twitter feed for specials like free Slurpees at 7-11 for crawlers.
