Ritchie Nakano's forthcoming brick-and-mortar Hapa at 1527 Fillmore continues to taunt us (*sigh*, it’s still not ready). But to help us get our fix, the former Nopa chef is bringing his killer bowls of 32-hour pork stock ramen and other Japanese delicacies to several pop-up locations this month. In addition to Nakano’s regular Hapa Ramen food-stall slot at the Ferry Plaza on Tuesdays and Thursdays, he’ll be hosting two pop-up dinners at Wing Wings in the Lower Haight.
The first is tonight from 6-10 PM, and according to Nakano’s tweets, he's been slaving over a special winter melon broth for the occasion. The second Wing Wings gig will be on December 18 from 6-10 PM. For those in the 510, take note. Nakano is bringing his noodle party to Oakland on Sunday, December 16th, when he’ll be hosting a “happy hour” bowl of ramen and beer for $12 over at Hawker Fare in Oakland from 4:30-6:30 PM.
