Sure, you can go into the ice room at Bulgarian bar Mehanata and drink all you want, but it's not really a memorable experience (mostly because you can't remember anything after mainlining all that hooch). Well, NYC is set to get a more upscale ice room in the form of Minus5, a frozen lounge that will open in Midtown's Hilton New York in March, just in it time to keep things cool with the spring thaw.
There are currently two other outposts of the concept, one in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Vegas and another in the Monte Carlo Resort. Like at those chilly locales, the bar, benches, tables and glasses that you drink from will be made of ice. Hand-carved ice sculptures will decorate the space, which will be kept at 23 degrees Fahrenheit at all times. Some furry hats and boots will keep guests warm and if that's not enough, well, there's always the vodka (1335 Avenue of the Americas).
