Head down to Abigaile in Hermosa
Monday
Watch the Roosevelt Hotel get lit for the holidays tonight. Ok, you might be the one getting lit - there will be complimentary cocktails and canapes at the Public Kitchen from 5:30-8:30 PM before hundreds of festive holiday lights get turned on in the historic lobby. Guests are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to the LAPD Pal Program (7000 Hollywood Blvd.; 323-769-8888).

Tuesday
Things are pretty festive at The Peninsula for the holidays. Enjoy afternoon tea daily (noon, 2:30 or 5 PM), which includes mini caviar cakes and a Cap Cake, a pastry version of the hotel's signature Page ha. Cost is $60 or $65 pre person depending on the Champagne you choose, and proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Beverly Hills. Thursday through Sunday evenings in the Living Room, you'll find traditional holiday music, light fare and seasonal cocktails from 8 PM to midnight (9882 S. Santa Monica Blvd.; 310-551-2888).

Wednesday
Tonight five chefs join Abigaile's Tin Vuong to create special six-course tasting menu at the Hermosa Beach restaurant. Bernard Mairinger (BierBeisl), Lara Mandracchia (Cake Bakeshop), Sean Chaney (Hot's Kitchen), Meg Hall (Made by Meg Catering) and John-Carlos Kuramato (Michael's) will feature signature dishes like marinated duck breast with fennel salad, caramel-crust pork belly, grilled lamb loin and desserts. $65 per person; beer pairings are separate (1301 Manhattan Ave.; 310-798-8227).

Thursday
Tonight you can taste an entire flight of The Bruery's "Cold Weather Beers" at Mohawk Bend. Sip the oak-aged American red ale, Loakal Red, which is normally only available behind the Orange Curtain; the spiced strong ale, 4 Calling Birds; the spiced golden ale, 5 Golden Rings; and Cuir, an old ale. Flights are $15 or each brew is $6.50 a glass. The Bruery's Benjamin Weiss will be there if you beer geeks want to talk details. 5 PM till close (2141 W. Sunset Blvd.; 213-483-2337).

Friday
Salt's Cure now has a happy hour of sorts. From 3-5:30 PM Mondays and Wednesdays through Fridays, the West Hollywood spot will feature a limited menu of house-made charcuterie, a daily market salad and that addictive burger along with natural wines from the acclaimed list. Consider this the Salt's Cure Wine Bar hour (7494 Santa Monica Blvd.; 323-850-7258).

Saturday
Here's another gift idea: Whether it's for the holidays or just because you love the MB Post baked goods so much, you can now order the brunch-only pecan sticky buns ($24 for four) or the cheddar bacon biscuits ($30 for 12) for pick up. If you're getting them for Christmas Eve, orders must be placed by Friday, December 21 at 5 PM (1142 Manhattan Ave.; 310-545-5405).

Sunday
Did you not get your latke quotient filled this week? This is the last night to get Suzanne Tracht's special latkes at Jar. Made from her father's recipe, she serves them ever day during Hanukkah as a side dish or an appetizer in the dining room and bar (8225 Beverly Blvd.; 323-655-6566).
