Better Bubble Gum Ice Cream From Ideas in Food

The idea of bubble gum ice cream always sounded better than it was - who besides three year olds wants to spit out pieces of non-edible chew while slurping up soft cream? Leave it to the chef-slash-science-whizzes at Ideas in Food to come up with something that takes all the good parts of the concept and none of the bad.

After infusing hot milk with actual bubble gum, Alex and Aki create ice cream from the flavored liquid. The frozen dessert is then extruded and cut into tubular bits, each of which is twisted back up into a gum wrapper before serving. Unfortunately, the fun treat isn’t yet served at any restaurants (that we know of), but there’s no harm in dreaming.
