Head to The Hawthorne Tonight to Celebrate Repeal Day

If you're lacking plans this evening, head to Kenmore Square's The Hawthorne inside the Hotel Commonwealth to commemorate the night Prohibition ended (79 years ago today). A $50 ticket will buy you post-Prohibition cocktails and snacks, along with a copy of Drinking Boston: A History of the City and Its Spirits. Proceeds from the evening will head to New York's chapter of USBG (United States Bartenders Guild) to help any of their members affected by Hurricane Sandy (6:30-9:30 PM; tickets can be purchased here).
