The Grilled Cheese Truck for a sandwich, but last night on our way to Vroman's in Pasadena, it was parked right there. By our car, practically blocking our way to the doors. Ok, not really. But we did have to walk past it. How could we resist? Apparently it was Waffle Wednesday, which meant one thing: fried chicken and waffle grilled cheese. You already know we love
fried chicken sandwiches, and this one didn't disappoint. The waffle was soft with a little crisp on the outside, the chicken had some kick in the spicy coating, and the cheese was all melty and oozy as it should be. The choice of maple syrup or gravy as a dipping sauce was the most difficult decision (we almost wanted both), but the sweet syrup proved a perfect pairing for the spice. Good stuff for a chilly, rainy night.
