A new look |
Starting tonight, the Viceroy's restaurant formerly known at
Whist becomes
Cast, with a new look and menu from chef Tony DiSalvo. It sounds like the dining room, which has often been overlooked for the bar or patio, is more private dining-friendly, with retractable doors separating the space as needed. The color palette has been lightened up, now more breezy and earth-toned, plus more communal tables in addition to booths along the one wall. DiSalvo's menu is still seasonal with global influences - the name "cast" was chosen as a reference to casting a wide net for ingredients and flavors.
Signature dishes like chile-fried chicken with vegetable kimchi, lamb kefta meatballs, and potato gnocchi with asparagus and morels are now joined by things like crispy soft-shell crab with watermelon, cucumber and ginger Japanese barley, and grilled lamb T-bone with massaman curry. You can still dine outside, in a cabana or in Cameo Bar for lunch or dinner.
