Salty Pig Hosts Porkapalooza Starting August 5

Get ready to gorge on meat during Porkapalooza at The Salty Pig in the Back Bay, a series of pork competitions open to the public. Salty Pig chefs Kevin O’Donnell and Michael Lombardi Jr. invite challengers from around Boston to compete for who’s got the better pork dish. The fun? YOU get to decide.

The Monday evening events will feature tastings from the two competing teams, who use a particular part of the pig in preparing a dish. On Monday, August 5, Will Gilson (Puritan & Co.) will compete using the pig’s head. On September 23 and October 7, the ingredients haven't been decided, but Karen Akunowicz (Myers + Chang) and Suzi Maitland (Trina’s Starlite Lounge) are confirmed as participants. We’re telling you early so you can be part of the fun. These events sell out early.

The dishes are served family-style to attendees, who get to vote. Each person receives a tasting of each team’s dish and one drink (7-10 PM; $25 per person; click here to get your advanced tickets; 617-536-6200).
