Quick PSA: Today is National Beer Can Day, and if you didn’t mark it in your calendar, check out four different beer-centric events going down in Philly tonight. In other brew news, New Jersey’s Flying Fish Brewing Co. has announced a brand new limited release coming in February. Forever Unloved Sandy (aka F. U. Sandy) will be a hybrid wheat beer-pale ale, and all proceeds from the sale of the 100-keg batch will go directly toward a charity working to help Superstorm Sandy victims.
The haul (approximately $50,000) will be donated to an as-yet-unselected nonprofit working to help those affected when the storm tore apart the Jersey Shore, and will be chosen by Flying Fish fans via social media. (To suggest a nominee, hit up the Somerdale brewery on Twitter or Facebook.) Expect a tropical nose and a soft mouthfeel from the special ale, which will be available next month in Eastern PA, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland and D.C.
