Beloved 4 AM dive bar, Marie’s Riptide Lounge, is at risk of closing its door without some serious support from the community that frequented the late-night haunt. A count decision on Friday will determine if they must close, but the decision may be stalled thanks to fundraising. Support the bar today, which will open early (at noon) to raise money for the cause. (773-278-7317).
Soup and Chefs
Our friends and fellow writers at Chicagoist have gathered a few Bridgport natives to raise money for the Benton House food pantry. The event will take place in Benton House in Bridgeport with guest chefs such as Mark Mendez (Vera), Kevin Hickey (Allium) and Jason Vincent (Nightwood) serving soup alongside bread donated by local bakeries. The suggested donation is $10.
Scarface
Pay homage to the gun slinging gangster who first put the Chicago crime scene on the map at an afternoon full of rare beers and Al Capone. The “Tribute to Scarface” begins at 3 PM on Firday at Local Option with limited releases from Half Acre, Gueuzerie Tilquin, Three Floyds and Bell’s. (773-348-2008).

Seven is a big birthday for any restaurant in Chicago, To Celebrate this milestone, Sola is offering $7 glasses on wine on Friday and Saturday to compliment their signature dishes such as Kalua pork with banana bread, BBQ sauce and crispy onions and the Wagyu burger. (773-327-3869).
