Have a Heart or Two at Grand Cafe's Misfit Dinner

Apparently Tony Bennett wasn't the only one who left his heart in San Francisco. So did a gaggle of guinea hens, pigs and cows, all of whose most vital organs are being served up this week at the Grand Café this week as part of chef Alice Jenish’s Misfit Dinners series. From Thursday until Sunday, diners can get the offally good stuff such as guinea hen heart poppers with curry aioli ($12), beef heart tartar ($14), grilled pig heat and cabbage rolls ($14) and grilled beef heart and bone marrow with pommes Anna ($28). We've got to give Jenish a lot of props. It’s pretty ballsy to serve up your heart on a plate just a few week’s before the sappy heart-themed holiday Valentine’s Day when actual heart dishes will be replace with the more predictable crowd pleasers as oysters, lobster and rib-eye for two.
