American Bistro and Bowling Alley Opens in Mashpee

The Lanes Bowl & Bistro in Mashpee Commons

Cape Cod can be mighty quiet this time of year, especially if you live there. So, families can rejoice with the newly opened Lanes Bowl & Bistro, a 90-seat American in the Mashpee Commons that features 10 ten-pin lanes (that's big balls for the layperson) with communal tables and booths to take a break in between strings. As for the food, expect American fare with a twist that’s all under $20. Offerings include pasta (beef and pappardelle), pizzas (BBQ), flatbreads (steak 'n' cheese), subs and sandwiches (classic meatball), paninis (chicken-veggie-pesto) and desserts (ice cream sandwiches).

When it comes to the space, the former supermarket now features a main dining room with high ceilings (think stylish warehouse), and a 17-seat bar area that offers table seating as well and TVs for your sports viewing pleasure. (TVs are in the bowling area, too). The bowling area also includes an entertainment stage; a seasonal outdoor bar and are bocce court are forthcoming in the warmer weather.

Groups can bowl a game for $6 or rent a lane for an hour at $20. Shoe rentals run $4 per person.

The Lanes Bowl & Bistro is open daily, 11:30 AM-1 AM and is owned and operated by the same folks who own the popular Bobby Byrne's pub, also in the Mashpee Commons.
