Root Hill Burger Starts Flipping Patties in Gowanus

Forth Avenue in Gowanus just got a new burger slinger. Root Hill Burger is now open in this industrial hood, serving nine signature burgers that were inspired by the multiethnic roots of chef Cali Rivera (Prune, Seersucker). The options are numbered, and an array of possible patties include lamb, beef, sausage, veggie, salmon and vegan offerings. Expect combos like the b05, an Aussie-influenced burger that's topped with root vegetable crisps, cheddar cheese, crème fraiche and a fried egg (how do you say gut-buster in Australian slang?).

The interior of the space is decked out with a retro-vibe and an outdoor patio will become available when the weather gets warm. Drinkers can enjoy some beer and wine, but there's also kombuchea on draft for those of you who were able to hold on to your 2013 resolutions so far into the year. If that's the case, you probably should skip the fried egg and get one of the more traditional offerings, see the full menu here (256 Fourth Ave, Brooklyn.).
