The Phene Arms in Chelsea Saved from Closure

We've just heard (via a Tweet from Harden's) that The Phene Arms in Chelsea has been saved from being transformed into a million pound mansion.

It seems that planning inspectors have back the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea's decision to not allow change of use saying, “The loss of this historic public house to residential use would be damaging to the value and significance of this heritage asset, and would cause harm to the character, identity and distinctiveness of the conservation area.”
