Spazio Caffe, which just opened in Santa Monica. You can get a traditional dark, white or hazelnut hot chocolate, or something like pear or coconut. The owners, who also own
Caffe Bello, promise Spazio is Italian to the core, from the design to the espresso (Manuel Caffe from San Vendemiano) to the barista trainer flown in from Italy. For food, there are fresh croissants and other pastries, hot and cold paninis, salads and soups made daily.
This is the first of two Spazio Caffes - the second location will open at 245 South Main Street in Venice soon - and although it's open now, the first 50 people to show up for Santa Monica's grand opening on January 26 will get a free cup of coffee.
