In bar terms, 2012 could quite possibly be called the year of whiskey or maybe craft beer, especially here in LA. While we ate well at our hottest new restaurant openings of the year, and took note of the burger, coffee and uni trends, our bar scene has grown exponentially with new cocktail spots, outdoor lounges even one place where you might see Susan Sarandon overhwelming someone with her Ping-Pong prowess. We launched our 2013 Nightlife Survey not too long ago, where you voted for your favorite bars across LA. But here are the 15 spots that opened this year that we think shouldn't go unnoticed.
