North End Grill will break out the truffles
Big Apple dwellers know to tread carefully on New Year's Eve. While getting out of your apartment is a must, you want to go somewhere that doesn't involve a certain element. You know, the element that drinks too much and passes out on the bar 10 minutes before the countdown. These 10 restaurants should have of that funny business going on and should provide a end of year celebration to remember (unless you drink to much champagne, but we can't help you there).

Beauty and Essex: If you do want to par-tay, check out the shindig at Chis Santos' Lower East Side eatery. A $175 ticket includes open bar, snacks and beats from a DJ. The event will rage from 10:30 PM to 1:30 AM (212-614-0146).

Bill's Food and Drink: Newly opened hot spot Bill's will be offering two seatings. If you want to eat before you head to your party, stop by from 5:30 to 7:30 PM for three courses for $95. During the second seating from 8:00 to 10:30 PM, a live jazz trio will play, and the four-course menu is available for $250 with a wine pairing offered for an additional $85 (212-518-2727).

Gran Electrica: Dumbo residents not wanting to deal with the craziness of Manhattan will find a lot to love at this Mexican eatery. A four-course tasting menu of fare will be served for $55 per person - think items like a beef cheek empanada with quesillo cheese. Drink specials will be on offer throughout the night and a DJ will be in the house (212-852-2700).

The Lamb's Club: If you do have to brave the Midtown crazy zone, do it with some old time swank at Geoffery Zakarian's posh eatery. At 10 PM, the restaurant will pass out cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the mezzanine bar. The Avalon Jazz Band will perform from 10 to 2 AM, and if you're really rave, you can also go out to 44th Street for the countdown. Tickets are $200 per person and include open bar (212-997-5262).

North End Grill: You're diet can start on Tuesday. For New Year's Eve, should go all out with the six-course grand tasting from chef Floyd Cardoz. Seatings for the $200 meal are available from 8 to 10 PM, and the menu features white truffles and black truffles galore. Once you're done, head over to the bar room for some live music and dancing (646-747-1600).

Seersucker: This Brooklyn favorite will offer a six-course tasting for $95 per person, with wine pairings available for an additional $45. There are seating throughout the night and sparkling wine will be poured for everyone at midnight (718-422-0444).

The Third Man: This brand new cocktail bar from the team behind Edi and the Wolf will serve small bite and chef driven cocktails for $80 a head between 8 PM and Midnight. Burlesque dancers will entertain partiers, and a DJ will spin world music. More info here.
