Now You Can Eat at Highland Park's Hermosillo Bar, Too

Dustin Lancaster (Bar Covell, L&E Oyster Bar) told us that The Hermosillo, the dive bar he and partners Ross Stephenson and Michael Blackman spruced up in Highland Park earlier this year, will start serving food this weekend. Up until now it's just been wines from Mexico and South America, and local craft brews - similar to what you see at Lancaster's other spots. The new bar menu is similar, too, in that there isn't really a full kitchen putting out major plates of food.

Chef Deborah Gorman, who worked at L&E as a pastry chef and did a stint at Animal (and launched Gourmet Sorbet in NYC this past summer), created the menu. Think: finger food like fried pickles to a "spreadable cheese" plate. And there's a version of Frito Pie, ladies and gentlemen. Frito. Pie. Check out the current offerings below.
