Downstairs Tasty Burger bar in Harvard Square
Boston-based quick-serve Tasty Burger opened location number three yesterday in Harvard Square, turning a former 7-Eleven into a burger shrine.

The space takes up two floors, with a counter on the first floor where you can order, and 21 seats lining the storefront windows overlooking JFK and Mt. Auburn streets. The second floor features full service and a bar that serves beer and wine, as well as a pool table (like the original Fenway locale). “It’s a great dichotomy, the upstairs is kind of like a fishbowl, [and] the downstairs is all warm and comfortable,” says owner David Dubois (who also operates owns and operates Franklin Cafe in the South End and Southie, and Citizen Public).
As far as art on the walls, a custom mural is “a little homage to the burger,” says Dubois. Another mural depicts Uma Thurman, an ode to the scene in Pulp Fiction when she takes John Travolta to Jack Rabbit Slims and she orders a burger.

Another good thing: this branch, which seats upwards of 200, serves food until 4 AM, adding to a small cadre of places that are open until the wee hours, including Market in the Square, a grocers/quick-serve spot that's open 24 hours. IHOP serves pancakes until 4 AM; Falafel Corner serves until 3 AM nightly except Sundays, when it closes at midnight.

Tasty Burger Harvard Square hours are Sunday through Wednesday 11 AM-1 AM; Thursday through Saturday 11 AM-2 AM, with the kitchen staying open until 4 AM daily.
