Echo Park's Pizza Buona Reopens, Taco Zone Gets Tables

Slinging pies once again/The Eastsider

It's not all shiny new restaurants with ultra-seasonal menus in Echo Park these days. According to The Eastsider, the neighborhood staple Pizza Buona finally reopened after a car smashed into it earlier this year. It's easy to see how, considering it anchors on the busy Alvarado Street and Sunset Boulevard. There are now poles placed in front to block such an instance should it happen again.

Also in the news, Taco Zone, the popular truck that sits just south of that intersection next to the Von's, now has tables. Some crafty hipsters built modular tops (removable?) for the bright yellow parking lot posts so you no longer have to juggle your late-night carnitas. Here's the video to prove it. This probably won't affect the crowds we expect to line up at Guisados, which posted its new EP signage today with a note: "Things are moving right along on Sunset. Stay tuned in the next couple weeks for more info!"
