6 Top LA Female Chefs, One Special Dinner at Hatfield's

Whenever someone laments the lack of female chefs in LA, we like to remind them that there are almost too many to name, including a few that helped make the scene what it is today. You'll find several cooking together at Hatfield's on Monday (Oct. 8) for the Pink Apron Dinner for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Host Karen Hatfield welcomes some of the tops in town - Mary Sue Milliken (Border Grill), Sherry Yard (Spago), Suzanne Tracht (Jar), Dakota Weiss (NINETHIRTY) and Nyesha Arrington (Wilshire) - and writer Charlotte Druckman, who will be signing copies of her new book, Skirt Steak. Optional wines to go with the five-course prix fixe menu include some from female winemakers, like Dr H. Thanisch to Grifalco della Lucania. The dinner is $110 per person, with all proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation; wine pairings are optional (6703 Melrose Ave.; 323-935-2977)
