The Jewish Festival of Lights begins the evening of Saturday, December 8 and runs through the following Sunday, December 16. From tasting menus to Latkepalooza to a special “chosen” beer tapping, here are four ways to spark up your Hanukkah dining in Philadelphia this year.

Kevin Sbraga’s Avenue of the Arts restaurant is already offering a Hanukkah themed feast at the intimate chef’s counter, where the six-course tasting menu is filled with dishes like latkes, gravlax, chopped liver, brisket and more. Michael Solomonov gives the holiday Israeli flair at his Society Hill restaurant with a prix-fixe, family-style menu offered nightly December 8-16. The $48 per person meal includes hummus with spiced beef, fried smelts with lemon purée and sufganiyot for dessert. Reservations are required (215-625-8800).
Gershman Y
There’s still time to get tickets to the 10th annual Latkepalooza, which goes down on Sunday, December 9 from 2-4 PM. Chefs from Audrey Claire, Estia, Bar Ferdinand, El Camino Real, Citron and Rose and more will face off to see who makes the best potato pancakes. Old Eagle Tavern
If you’re a beer fan, this is the Hanukkah celebration for you. On December 13 at 7 PM, bartenders at the Manayunk pub will tap a special keg of Hop Manna and Jewbelation Sweet, and 16 beers from He’Brew. Potato latkes will be offered as a special, and dreidels will be spinning all over the bar (215-483-5535).
