Now Open: Danielle Keene Brings Bittersweet Treats to Pasadena

You last saw her on the first season of Top Chef: Just Desserts, and before that she was at a slew or restaurants including BLT Steak and Wilshire, where she had wildly popular ice cream shoppe nights. But now Danielle Keene has her very own bakery and cafe, Bittersweet Treats, which debuts in Pasadena today. Keen's kept herself busy with all sorts of sweets at her online store, but now you can go to her shop - just a stone's throw from Pasadena Community College - for cakes, toffee tarts, ice creams, lavender truffles, pistachio brittle, chocolate cupcakes with salted caramel icing, whoopie pies, milkshakes, cookies and more. It's a bright and cheerful spot with vintage cake pans on the walls and Polaroids of her creations in the shape of a heart. Sweet. Bittersweet is open Monday through Saturday, 10 AM-7 PM.
