There's never a dull moment in the land of Roy Choi. First up, he makes note on the Kogi blog that Chego!, the restaurant, is temporarily closed for kitchen renovations. But not to fret, you bowl-loving Chego-heads: there is now a Chego! truck serving many of the rice bowls and crack fries right out front, at least most of the menu, complete with picnic tables for chowing down. "It will be our motel room as we figure things out," says Choi. Hours are the same (3300 Overland Ave.)
And in even bigger news, Choi has been tapped to head up the food program at The Line, a boutique new hotel planned from the Sydell Group, which owns the uber-hip Nomad Hotel in New York City. He's in good company too, as the Houston brothers (Mark and Johnnie from La Descarga, Harvard & Stone and Pour Vous) will head up the nightlife, with the former Wilshire Hotel being redesigned by Sean Knibb, who created the A-Frame space out of a former IHOP. The Koreatown hotel is slated to open next summer. [via Eater]
