Truth, this is a holdover from the weekend, but we'd be remiss for not mentioning one of our new favorite finds,
Lemon Poppy Kitchen, hidden in a tiny Glassell Park strip mall. The sunny, friendly little spot was born out of Anca's Romanian, Anca Caliman's farmers market stand specializing in Romanian flatbreads called plachintas. They come in different flavors - feta and dill, cheddar and bacon, potato - and here you can get them topped with eggs and kale, which makes a fine breakfast. But they won us over with a special of the day, incredibly buttery biscuits, a rich sausage gravy and fluffy scrambled eggs. There's an array of sandwiches and breakfast items on the daily menu, with Handsome and Cafecito coffees to boot. But if that biscuit was a regular, we'd be too.
