While some restaurants are just places to eat, others go to town on designing a feast for all the senses from the moment you step through the door, from the food to the ceiling to the floor. Some of the best appear in Architecture Now: Eat, Shop, Drink, which explores the world's most stylish and extraordinary shops, bars and restaurants, and the architects and designers who put them together.
The only entries for London are three shops and a hotel. Are British bars and restaurants still such places of staid refinement that they fail to make any impression?
