Empanada Mama Launches Express Location on LES

There's a new late night snack on the Lower East Side for all of you drunkys who are tired of pizza. Some Empanadas should hit the spot after a night of bar hopping in the hood, and today a tipster sends word that Empanada Mama has opened its second location on East Houston Street. The empanadas are mighty popular in Hell's Kitchen, where the 24-hour-a-day eatery is usally standing room only. The new haunt is dubbed the "express" edition, and the grub purveyors will offer the most popular items as take away treats that can be ready in a few minutes. Sounds like a great nibble for the stumble home (189 E. Houston St.; 212-673-0300).
