Old John Dory Space Gets a Tenant Next Week With Willow Road

Non-industry obsessives might forget that April Bloomfield's John Dory started off in West Chelsea before shuttering and being reborn as a more casual concept in the Ace Hotel. Well, the space that used to house her fish shack has finally got a new tenant after a few years of being vacant. The new concept is dubbed Willow Road,an and will open in the narrow space that's wedged between Del Posto and Colicchio and Sons on December 5.

The designers behind ABC Kitchen will lend their imprint to the space, and the concept will be more casual than the original Dory. It's being billed as a gastrobar, and cuisine will be by chef Todd Macdonald, who was formerly the executive chef at Cru. The drinks will be by Greg Seider, who is behind the concoctions at Summit Bar and Le Bernardin, so you can expect a lively scene for the boozers (85 10th Avenue).
