Saturday
Pop-Up PIGnic
Antonelli’s Cheese Shop is hosting a second pop-up picnic. This one celebrates Ham Independence and features La Quercia American-made prosciutto. At 9 AM on Saturday morning the Antonellis will announce the location on their social media accounts; hurry to the spot to get a free picnic basket, first come, first served. Games and live music, with donations to benefit Slow Food Austin. (Location TBD; 10AM - 1PM)
Sunday
3rd Annual June State Beer Challenge
On Sunday evening, head to Craft Pride for a different kind of drinking contest. The You Stay Hoppy Austin blog has challenged beer drinkers to drink only brews produced in the state where they live. Craft Pride is tapping three local casks, from Austin Beerworks, Hops and Grain Brewing, and Adelbert’s Brewery. There’s live music from the Brass Buckel and food from the Bacon Bus out back. Plus, the first 34 people to buy a cask beer and mention “state beer” will get a gratis special brewery pint glass. (61 Rainey St.; 6PM)
