Tony Maws, chef and owner of the renowned Cambridge French bistro
Craigie on Main, is planning to open a casual eatery in Somerville, according to a
Somerville Patch report. The new restaurant, which does not yet have a name, will be located at 425 Washington St., former home to the Kirkland Café. As far as food, the à la carte menu will feature the “same ingredients that we cook at Craigie on Main,” says Maws, but with lower price points. A seven-day all-forms alcohol license was transferred from Deco Restaurant to Maws in a Somerville Licensing Commission
meeting Wednesday night. Maws told the Patch one of the reasons he liked the location was the close proximity to Cambridge’s Harvard, Porter, Inman and Union squares. Stay tuned for more details.
