Nicole Daddio Pulls City Sip From Echo Park

Despite a recent remodel promising a "less stuffy" atmosphere, City Sip owner Nicole Daddio is pulling the plug on her Echo Park wine bar. Having served the community for almost four years, City Sip was an early newcomer promising something more than tacos and Tecate (not that there's anything wrong with either) to the Eastside crowds. A lot has come up around it, but that's not why Daddio will ease daily operations after January 30.

From a note she posted: "An opportunity has arisen to begin a new chapter in my life. Although I am very excited to move forward, this was nonetheless a difficult and heart wrenching decision to make. I take great pride that we have managed to build our neighborhood into a unique and colorful Los Angeles destination ... While City Sip will be closed for daily operations, we will continue to host private events through February and March...In our final 10 days, I hope you will stop by and have a sip with us." That's a prime little spot opening up, one that could complement Mohawk Bend and Elf Cafe quite nicely. We'll keep you posted on who might be moving in. [Via Eater]
