Salmon from Citron and Rose |
Keeping kosher is not an easy feat - meat and dairy can’t touch, all fruit and veggies must be inspected, the kitchen must be blessed, etc. On January 23, five of Philly’s best chefs will put their culinary skills to the kashrut test at a fund-raiser hosted by the Lubavitch of Bucks County. Set to take place at
Vie (right next to
Route 6 on North Broad),
Bubby’s Cook-Off will headline a gala party with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, wine pairings and samples.
Going head to head with their interpretations of modern Jewish fare will be Mike Deganis (
Alla Spina), Jean-Marie Lacroix (
Brûlée Catering), Guillermo Pernot (
Cuba Libre), Shane Cash (
Rat’s) and Yehuda Sichel (
Citron and Rose). The kosher requirements will be upheld to the point that chefs won’t even be able to use their own knives. Who has the best kosher skills? Snag your ticket now to judge for yourself ($175; 5:30 PM).
