A while back, we told you about a massive new restaurant and nightlife complex Z Bar, which will be a potential game changer in Hell's Kitchen (at least for the concert-going set who made Terminal 5 one of the city's hottest venues). Well, the restaurant and bar portion is still being worked on (sources say late February or early March), the music venue quietly opened a few weeks back.
The building used to house a horse-stable in the 1950s, but we think modern audiences will prefer the live music on the first two floors. Right now shows are booked for weekends (Talyor Dane plays tomorrow - OMG) -you can see the full lineup here - but we would expect the calendar to expand once more of the space is up and running. The stage is 34-feet wide, putting it on the more intimate side of city venues, and the room features a nice horseshoe shaped mezzanine that overlooks the acts and crowd below.
Also on tap are a roooftop bar dubbed Sky Lounge that should roll out by the spring (605 W.48th St.).
