Killing Me Sweetly: Female Pastry Chefs in the Spotlight

Pastry chef Christina Tosi will travel from NYC to cook at Trenchermen
Clear the calendars. While foodies around Chicago are scrambling to get a last minute New Year’s Eve reservation, the smart ones will snag a seat at even more memorable evening.

On Thursday the 3rd, Trenchermen will host Killing Me Sweetly. The event brings together six pastry chefs from Copenhagen, New York and Chicago – Rosio Sanchez from Noma, Christina Tosi from Momofuku Milk Bar and Dana Cree from Blackbird. They each selected one up-and-coming female pastry chef to be their protégée. Together, the duos will create a sweet and savory course. Executive chefs Michael and Patrick Sheerin will prepare the remaining courses.

The theme of the evening – women in the industry – will also be celebrated with wine pairings by master sommelier Alpana Singh of Boarding House and mixologist Jenny Kessler of Masa Azul. It will not be difficult to save room for dessert, because these women are going to be dishing out dishes to start 2013 on a sweet note. Beginning at 6:30 PM, tickets cost $100. (773-661-1540).
