Playing up the EOW theme, Umami has a new special burger inspired by traditional Mayan and Mexican flavor. The End of the World burger is a beef patty topped with coffee-braised short rib, homemade mole sauce, queso fresco and corn relish. And yes, those are also EOW fries (all the same stuff on top of French fries). Both are available Umamicatessen and most Umami Burger locations while supplies last.
Today, more for National Burger Day than the fact that the world didn't end, get a free pint of draft beer simply by asking for it when you order the signature burger at Fat Dog today. The burger is ground sirloin topped with caramelized onions, shaved manchego and baby arugula on a brioche bun (801 N. Fairfax Ave.; 323-951-0030.
The Demon Burger at Villains Tavern, devilish for it's bacon cherry pepper compote, is only $8 tonight (usually $12) (1356 Palmetto St.; 213-613-0766).
