Stuffed lobster at Legal Harborside |
But for now, here are two ways to have your “meal to end all meals,” as Legal Harborside puts it. It sure is: the Seaport seafooder is serving up a two-and-a-half pound baked lobster stuffed with more lobster, scallops, foie gras, porcini mushrooms and truffle oil garnished with black truffles ($150). To go with, try the specialty cocktail, the Mayan Ruin (love that!). It’s a mix of mescal, St. Germain Elderflower liqueur, freshly squeezed grapefruit juice and ginger beer ($10; 617-477-2900).
Head to Olé Mexican Grill in Cambridge for a tongue-in-cheek “Doomsday Dinner & Candle Vigil," 5:30-11:11 PM - the exact time the world is supposed to end. Though if the Mayans were wrong, Olé won’t kick you out. The dinner is à la carte with selections that include Montezuma’s Last Meal, an 18-ounce ribeye steak stuffed with caramelized garlic and jalapeños, served with three cheese mashed potatoes and spicy fried onion rings ($32). Guests are asked to being a canned good to represent the restaurant as a bunker and presuming, this is all a hoax, the canned goods will be donated to the Cambridge Economic Opportunity Committee’s Food Pantry. There will be margaritas and more! (617-492-4495)
