Project Open Hand will be hosting the annual benefit luncheon Hand to Hand on Thursday; the three-course, sit-down meal will be prepared by 15 Bay Area’s chefs including Mark Dommen (One Market), Ben deVries (Luella's) and Emily Luchetti (Farallon). Although Off The Grid's Fort Mason Center soiree is on winter hiatus, they’ll be hosting a one-time Holiday Market this Friday featuring its regular line up of food vendors, craft brews, cocktails and live music. In addition, they’ll be a powwow of retail vendors on hand for your holiday shopping pleasure and a canned food drive onsite. 10% of the sales from all retail vendors will go to the San Francisco Food Bank (Friday 5-10 PM, Fort Mason Center, for more info, click here).
Chef Michael Mauschbaugh of the pop-up Sous Buerre Kitchen is gearing up to open his own brick-and-mortar restaurant on 24th St but will be hosting a final swan song dinner party at his adopted Mission home Sugarlump Café this Friday. The four-course family-style prix menu will feature vegetable fondue, Pacific Coast bouillabaisse, Rocky Road dessert and mignardise. Now that Crab Apocalypse has ended, the Vietnamese pop-up cafe Rice Paper Scissors will be soldier on with their plans for Crab House, a multi-course dinner centered around wok-fried salt & pepper Dungeness crab. Ritchie Nakano’s will bring toting his Hapa Ramennoodle party across the Bay Bridge to Hawker Fare where he’ll be hosting a ramen and beer happy hour at James Syhabout’s casual Oakland eatery (Sunday, 4:30-6:30 PM, $12 for a bowl of ramen and a beer, follow @haparamen online).
